(BRIEF)

Keystone Law – A Fresh Vision for a Forward-Thinking Firm

(BRIEF)

Established in 2002, Keystone Law has built a reputation as a trailblazer in the legal industry, embracing proprietary technology and flexible working practices to empower its team of over 400 highly experienced lawyers.

With a client-centric philosophy at its core, Keystone delivers specialist advice and deep industry knowledge to thousands of individuals and businesses globally.

Recently, our team at DSGN had the pleasure of delivering a full Cat B refurbishment of Keystone Law’s existing office space, which spans two floors and 11,000 sq ft. Taking on one floor at a time to ensure the Keystone team could be operational in the building during the refurbishment, we were tasked with reimagining a workspace that had begun to feel outdated, ensuring it better reflected Keystone’s vibrant, modern identity.

(KEY FEATURES)

The vision for this project was clear: to move away from a traditional corporate look and feel, and instead create a cutting-edge, contemporary environment that would appeal to both current staff and a new generation of talent.

The goal was to infuse energy, innovation, and flexibility into the space, aligning it with the evolving nature of the workplace as we move into 2025.

Working closely with some of our favourite suppliers, we introduced new furniture and finishes throughout. Moventi provided a sleek slate table, Techo supplied the office desks, and Boss Design and Flokk contributed statement furniture pieces that balance form and function beautifully.

Collaboration was a key focus.

We expanded the existing breakout/kitchen area, removing the dividing wall to create an open-plan social hub. This new space not only fosters casual teamwork and informal meetings, but also doubles as an event space for entertaining clients and staff. Positioned just off the reception area, it forms a welcoming and dynamic first impression.

Smart zoning techniques were used throughout, including a striking chevron-pattern floor from Plusfloor to subtly differentiate the breakout area.

Rather than replacing the reception desk, we took a more sustainable and cost-effective approach by wrapping it in high-quality vinyl, and topping it with a timeless black slate, giving it a fresh, updated look. Behind the desk, we installed a wooden slatted feature wall with acoustic backing – adding warmth, texture, and sound control. This detail was also mirrored on the second floor to maintain consistency and flow.

(KEY FEATURES)

The material palette across the workspace was intentionally calm and neutral, accented with warm wood tones and complemented by the introduction of Keystone’s brand colour—navy blue – in the kitchen area.

The breakout spaces carry a more playful tone, offering a deliberate contrast to the calm, professional feel of the main office areas. Carpeting from Forbo’s Infused Collection ties the scheme together seamlessly.

The overall atmosphere is homely, welcoming, and refined, with the aim of making both clients and employees feel comfortable and inspired.

(KEY FEATURES)

While open plan was central to the layout, the need for private, quiet zones was equally important.

We introduced Orangebox cabin pods, along with bespoke phone booths featuring foldable tables and integrated tablet/laptop arms for video calls. These elements support focused work and confidential conversations, without compromising the flow of the open environment.

(KEY FEATURES)

On the second floor, we created a Lawyers’ Lounge – a relaxed, collaborative space designed for informal meetings and client hosting.

With its warm finishes and thoughtfully placed furnishings, it offers a comfortable yet professional atmosphere that encourages creativity and connection.
